For Microsoft Dynamics GP, GL account segment dimensions are viewed in Management Reporter dimensions based on the segment description. If all of the companies that need to be consolidated on financial statements have the same segments and same descriptions, then creating consolidated financials is easy. But what if the segments are different? You can still produce consolidated reports, but it is slightly more complicated. Here are the steps:

But what if the segments are different? You can still produce consolidated reports, but it is slightly more complicated. Here are the steps:
Row format
1. A separate link must be defined for each company so that the dimensions can be defined for each company.
2. Set the first company as the Default under the Company menu > companies. Select the accounts.
3. Repeat for the second company. You will not be able to see the accounts from the first company. You should be able to copy the column out to Excel and do a find/replace “Seg2” with “Account” to make it quick and easy.
Tree format
The tree has to have a few more elements.
1. The tree can be built manually or by logging into one company and selecting dimensions; then the other.
2. Define the row format to use in column E.
3. Define the FD link from the row so that each unit knows which dimension to look for.
