What happened to Microsoft Dynamics CRM?
Nothing... sort of.
As of November 1, 2016 Microsoft Dynamics CRM was renamed and became part of Microsoft Dynamics 365. The Dynamics CRM we have known and loved is more or less being re-labeled and licensed in a different manner. The three core components of Dynamics CRM – Sales, Marketing and [Customer] Service – will become separate applications within Dynamics 365. And when I say separate I mean they are licensed individually, not that they are segregated or disparate systems. The purpose of this licensing model is to provide organizations with the ability to purchase only what their users need access to. |
There will be two editions within Dynamics 365: Business and Enterprise.
The Business Edition will include Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.
|
The Enterprise Edition will include Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Field Service and Project Service Automation.
